My PC won't turn on
Step 1 - Check that the 3 pin power lead connected to the back of your computer is plugged into your PC and to the power socket on the wall, and that the socket is switched on.

Step 2 - Check that the power switch on the back of your PC is switched on. The switch is normally near the incoming power lead connection, though some older PCs do not have a power switch on the back. If you have a voltage selector, make sure that that it is correctly set to 230 volts.

Step 3 - Push the power button on the front of the PC. If the power light does not come on, check the fuse in the plug to ensure the PC is getting power. If you are certain the PC has power, then it quite probable your Power Supply Unit (PSU) has developed a fault, and you will need to have it tested in our workshops. Contact us to arrange a test and replacement.

My PC turns on, but the screen shows no picture
Step 1 - Check that the screen has power. For older PCs the power lead may come from the PC, while newer PCs have a separate power cable connected to the power socket.

Step 2 - Ensure the screen is turned on - most have a switch on the front, though older screens may have a switch on the back in addition or instead of the front one.

Step 3 - Check that the signal cable is correctly connected between the PC and the monitor. This is normally a black lead with a blue or white plug on one or both ends.

Step 4 - If none of these steps resolve the problem, your screen may be faulty, or there could be a problem with your graphics card. Contact us to arrange to have them checked and replaced if necessary.
